Post image for Traffic Myth Unmasked…sort of… ;-)

Once again it’s been a while since I’ve posted. I’ve been a bit quite lately. You see, I’ve been busy creating content for the members area and travelling around a lot for the day job…so it’s time for a catch up!! How are ya?

I’ve finally made time for a quick video about my online journey so far, what’s coming up & the REAL truth about the traffic myth…I hope you enjoy it! Let me know your thoughts!!

UPDATE: Sorry… because there was a 44 second clip of a Pink Floyd in this 8 min video You Tube decided to ban it…(even though there are other full length videos, on you tube, containing the whole song!…go figure).

p.s. busy times right now but it’s get a bit less hectic soon so I’ll be posting more often over the coming weeks. Leave me a comment…show me you’re alive ;-)

Hi Rob,

Really enjoyed the video, you’re becoming quite the professional at videos, that was extremely well put together mate… It’d be great if you could send some of your camera confidence vibes my way. :)

You have a nice arsenal of products there now, never mind about how caught up you got in creating them all, you’re now all set to go my friend with your unique brand of products. ;)

I think you’re going to build your list super quick with all that value you are giving away there. I will be watching with interest over the results of your squeeze page split-tests.

As you can tell I’m seriously impressed with what you’ve achieved here, and I can already tell you are going to be very successful in IM… Nice work!

Talk soon,

Paul

Hey Paul,

Thanks for your feedback mate!

It took a while to make all the products but I think (and I hope – lol) that it’ll prove to be worth it. Time to start driving the traffic now. I’ve picked up a few cool traffic tips from you so thanks for that!!

The split testing should prove interesting when the first batch of results are ready but in the meanwhile you might want to check out Marc Milburn’s post about a 70% conversion squeeze page (I’m going to be implementing some of the elements in the next round of testing.)

Here’s the link…just tell him I sent you – lol ;-)

Rob,

What can I say?

Dude… you have some SERIOUS talent! Your writing skills are up there with the best of them (I have just read your latest e-book – excellent effort), you make stunning videos, awesome graphics and you are good in front of a camera.

Is there anything that you are crap at?

I should be jealous of you. But I’m not. I’m actually very proud of your vast ability. You are gonna be a star in the Internet Marketing caper. The TOTAL package.

Is there anything you can’t do?

When you mentioned on my blog you were getting better with video I had no idea you were so good.

I love the way you’ve combined all the elements.

You’re certainly keeping it “real” and I see a great future for you, which doesn’t involve sitting in traffic.

Hope you’ll let me have another interview when you become rich and famous?

James April 17, 2010 at 10:06 pm

Is it just me or is the whole Im thing basically a Giant Pyramid/Ponzi scheme?

All I see is people wanting to ‘get rich (quick?)’ selling products on ‘how to get rich’ to people who then sell other people products on how to get rich?

I mean where are the ‘real’ products or is that HOW you get rich by selling ‘get rich’ ebooks?

Reply

Rob April 18, 2010 at 1:25 pm

Hey James,

Thanks for leaving your thoughts and it’s an interesting point that you raise and something I’ve thought about quite often.

It certainly could be seen that way and I’m sure that there are people who have only made money by ‘teaching’ others how to make money online and using the proof of their sales as evidence that it works – then the cycle repeats itself with the next batch of people!! There are probably some others who are ‘experts’ flogging ‘courses’ who have never even made more than a handful of dollars online!

BUT the fact that the principles and techniques taught in IM can be transferred and applied to hundreds (if not thousands) of niche topics and sub topics that is often overlooked and I think that’s what makes it different.

You see, yes I’m passing on what I’m learning about IM here on my blog and in the members area (and all for FREE too) and I’m testing it out to see if it really does work and to see if the claims are true…

…BUT…

…I’m not only doing this and I certainly don’t just want to be another ‘me too’ marketer. I’m also using the model and what I’m learning in a few other niches to see how well it works (the results so far have been pleasantly surprising)

So I think that’s the key. Use the principles of IM in a topic area your interested in to create extra income doing something you enjoy doing. I think that (certainly with what I’m trying to show on my blog) following a system that requires an investment of time and effort BUT NOT very much, cash, that can result in a very positive impact on your life, is worth a punt…but that’s just my opinion :-)

As for your question about where are the ‘real’ products. I know what you’re saying and to an extent I agree with you and this is what I think (hope) we’ll be seeing more and more of…

Rather than re-hashed, poslished and repackaged systems getting sold for inflated prices (note: I’m not saying they’re all trash, far from it; some IM information products do actually deliver something NEW and REVOLUTIONARY and as such are well worth the price tag, but) I think instead we’ll start to see more products like Josh Bartlett’s Easy Video Player and other software tools that can make tasks faster, simpler and easier for marketers!

Thanks again for your comment James!

I welcome different opinions here. What does anyone else think about this topic? Speak up!!

Rob :-D

Hi Rob,

Thanks for an honest reply, I actually half expected my comment to be deleted! I do a fair bit of affiliate marketing which is why I have been doing some research into IM but was getting a bit disheartened as following the trail has only brought me to the above conclusion so far.

I have signed up to your members area and will be taking a look through your ebooks to see if there is anything I can apply to my businesses and maybe following your progress. I’ll come back once I have had a read.

Rob April 27, 2010 at 3:40 pm

You’re welcome!

Affiliate marketing is where I started too. Still doing it but on a smaller scale now. There are definitely things that you’ll be able to apply to the affiliate model from IM.

Hope you enjoy the content in the members area.

Hope you find the time to reply on this one. Hope you can help me achieve success in the future…

Hi Romi,

Thanks for checking out my blog and leaving a comment!

I’m not teaching exactly the same course word-for-word as I think that’d be pretty disrespectful to Alex.

So teaching the principles I’m learning from Alex and other places along with documenting the steps I take and breaking it down into easy to follow steps for people to follow.

If I can help you on your journey to success I will.
