This is a quick overview of the steps we’re going to be taking together, over the next few weeks, building our ‘blog based’ online business.

It’s my first video and it was a good learning experience (something I’ll be sharing with you later on – you can learn from my mistakes).

It’s not perfect but it’s done on schedule; as my mentor Alex Jeffreys says, “Don’t get it perfect, just get it going!”

Also I apologise if I sound a little tired; there has been a few too many occasions celebrating our engagement with friends – you bad bad people!! :-)

It would be great to hear your comments on what’s here and what you would like to see included in the upcoming videos :-D

This is what I did to fix it.

First I found this support thread: http://wordpress.org/support/topic/334199

but although showing someone else having the same problem, it didn’t give a reason why or offer a solution!

Then I found this, older, support thread: http://wordpress.org/support/topic/224950 this time with the statement “I fixed it!” and showing how it was fixed…

Brilliant, I thought, all I need to do is to make sure my htaccess file included the code shown in the “fixed it” post (shown below)

So, happy with my detective work, I accessed my htaccess file…only to find that it already contained the exact code required (pictured below)

?????

But I decided to copy and paste the recommended code over the existing code and re-upload the file anyway…

I reloaded my blog and all internal links we’re no longer leading to 404 error pages!!

Everything was back to normal!

It’s great that everything is working as it should again and there’s been no further problems with links going to 404 error pages since.

The only thing is that it leaves the question why it happened unanswered.

I hadn’t made any changes or updates during the time between when all internal links were working and when they all stopped working!

If anyone has any ideas it would be great to hear from you!

I’ve just finished my first eBook:

I once was so “busy” that even though I had a brand new Play Station 3 it sat unopened in it’s box for 3 months because I was so “busy” I didn’t have time to even set it up, never mind about playing any games!

How CRAZY that was when I look back!

Welcome…

What’s this all about and why should you listen to me?

First of all as a legal disclaimer, no-one should listen to me on any subject for any reason whatsoever at any time, ever! I’m not a lawyer, business consultant or internet marketing expert – yet! ;-) but seriously… I’m just a regular guy showing you how I’m building an online business so that you can do the same.

I’m Rob, I am 26 years old and I live in Lancaster, UK. I’ve have been internet marketing for a few years and doing O.K. but the game is changing and it’s time for a new approach. There is a great window of opportunity right now for a total newbie to build their online business. So I’m making a fresh start and embarking on an exciting journey and I’m inviting you to join me!

I’ve studied and learned from internet marketing gurus (all megabucks-earning internet marketing heavyweights, Google them for proof) Frank Kern, Perry Belcher, Nikhil Parekh & Ryan Deiss and have recently been lucky enough to be mentored by Alex Jeffreys, with a select number of students, in a new and exciting system and I want to share this journey with you.

This blog is about growing my online business but, just as importantly, it’s about showing you and helping you to do the same. It’s about setting up a business that will make you financially free to enjoy your life and give you the time to enjoy that freedom. No more 9-5 and chasing paychecks! It’s going to be transparent, honest and done together; like Alex says, “It’s marketing WITH you, not TO you!”

I’m not going to lie to you and you can see that I’m not a total newbie to internet marketing but I AM a complete newbie to blogging, social media and this new approach I’m taking, so right now as I write this we’re on this adventure together at step 1.

I’m sure I’ll continue to meet new, fun, interesting and like-minded people as I have already done many times in my journey so far – and I’m sure you will too.
