Blog Wars: Wordpress Strikes Back
Hey, I just want to write a quick post about The White Screen of Death, Getting Technical and Unleashing the Beast…enjoy!!

So one day a few weeks ago I entered in my wordpress admin login address…
only to discover a totally blank browser window staring back at me!
No error message, no loss of internet connection message, just a 100% blank white screen!!!
It’s worth noting here that I had logged into my Wordpress Admin Area the day before no problem…and that I hadn’t done ANYTHING bewteen logging out one day and trying to log in the next!
RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHH!!! <---The Noise of An Angry Rob!!
So, after much searching of sites and forums trying various suggestions I finally saw a title that really seemed to sum up my problem:
How to troubleshoot the Wordpress “White Screen of Death”!!
Perfect I thought: I followed the instructions here:
http://jaredheinrichs.com/how-to-troubleshoot-wordpress-white-screen-of-death.html <--Thanks Jared
That solved the problem (which turned out to be plugin related).
So all is good but it was a scary few minutes thinking that I had somehow LOST EVERYTHING!!!
It finally gave me the kick up the ass to get my blog backed up…seriously consider backing up your blog if you haven’t already it wasn’t actually that ‘technical’ either!
Anyway…
Speaking of getting technical: Step 3 The Getting Technical Video Tutorial Series is done:

click the picture to go to the videos
(There’ll be a few more getting added over the coming weeks but at least I’ve managed to stay pretty much on track and get most done despite a busy time of wedding related venue hunting, planning and all that – must be because I’ve read the Busy Fool Elimination Method – you should too
)
The Videos take you step-by-step, over my shoulder, setting up a new website (www.myexamplesetupsite.com) right from step 1.
They’re all available for free because I’ve hosted these videos on youtube…BUT all videos for the next steps will ONLY be available to blog members (I’m going t be using something really cool for hosting instead of youtube but we’ll talk more about that in another post soon)…
…so if you haven’t got your free members area access yet then now you have ANOTHER reason to get it!
I hope you enjoy Step 3; check it out and let me know your thoughts, what else do you want to know about? is something missing? Leave me some feedback on the Getting Technical page and show me you’re alive!
Oh yeah just so you know what coming next…
Step 4 is : List Building (Unleash The List Building Beast)

Until next time…
Take Action & Enjoy!!

Hey All,
Seems like Wordpress isn’t done with me yet…
Earlier today Jacinta Dean left the following comment on one of my previous posts:
So Jacinta tried to leave a comment on this post but couldn’t (thanks for letting me know…much appreciated)
So I tried leaving a comment myself and found that I couldn’t either…
Looked into it and couldn’t see any obvious reason why it wasn’t working so unchecked and re-checked the allow comments box on the edit post page and updated the post…
It seems to be working now as Rayw has made a comment here since (edit-and also this comment has worked too)…so for now “all is calm on the Wordpress front”.
If anyone else experiences a similar problem PLEASE LET ME KNOW either via email or comment on another recent post.
Also if anyone has experienced this problem or has any advice then PLEASE LET ME KNOW TOO.
Thanks loads
Rob
Hi Rob,
Gottta say them thar products of yours looks the cannines swingers, i love the way they are presented too, you know “ListBuilding” is one of those areas that i`m not to successful at doing the right way i mean i never know the best way to feed the lists to keep them in the fold so to speak?
I want to look after them, however i don`t understand the concept of the same people buying different products from me over and over down the line when in most cases they do not even put any of them into practice, do you not find this creates un-subscriptions?
Cheers Rob….Ed.

Hey Ed,
Thanks for that very cool description and complement of the products I’ve made so far!!!
I’m no expert here, I’m just really starting out on my journey, but I think it’s important to provide free and quality content to your list as well as promote offers. There’s a lot of different opinions on the ratio of this so I’m just going to try different ratios and track the results. Frequency is also really important, try to mail out something at least once a week. (do what I say not what I do here – I’m not sending out as often as a should while I’m in this product creation phase (3 steps to go))…
I haven’t found this specifically creates un-subscriptions…if people want to buy something you promote and then never use it that’s their call and it shouldn’t stop you from promoting an offer. If your concern is different products then create different lists and also segregate buyers from prospects to avoid over promotion.
Hope some of that advice is useful. I’ll be heading over to your blog soon…I’ve not been so active online while making the latest step in the series!!
Speak soon,

Rob
Hi Rob
Firstly I must say, your products are beautifully presented and different from what I have seen so far. The dreaded white screen of death, I remember on one of my old blogs, I made some changes to the wordpress code and changed the theme name within wordpress, the next thing I new there was nothing on the screen, I thought I lost everything, I was literally holding back the tears. Then remember I made a backup copy.

Hey Avis,
Yep, the good old backup is a life saver to many of us!!
Thanks for your comments about the products.
I just think that there’s so many out there now that we’ve got to do something to make them stand out in the crowd and grab people’s attention.
Thanks for stopping by
Rob
Rob
Hope you’re well and haven’t been blighted with too many further technical issues!
When is step 4 due to be released? as I need to focus on my list building big time so would be interested in hearing where you have had success and adopting some techniques.
I’ve mentioned you in my latest blog post – looking to arrange that overdue mini meet up in Birmingham so get in touch and we can sound out some possible dates.
Cheers, Tom

Hey Tom,
How’s it all going buddy?
No more technical issues so far…
Step 4’s just been finished so you can grab it here: http://www.robjbradley.com/list-building-unleashed/
or it’s also in the members area along with the vids and the ‘list builder in a box’
I’ve been a bit quite on the blog and in the forum lately…just been focusing on creating the ‘Steps’ and getting them done first before I’ve got to go away.
I figure it’ll be easier to work on driving traffic and blogging than product creation while on the road! (so working on step 5 now)
Thanks for the mention on your blog. I’ll def be dropping by when I’ve got the products done and will def get in touch with dates for a meet up. Looking forward to it!!
Rob
Hi Rob!
Good to be back here again. Now I can seriously relate with the wordpress war!
I had to change my whole outlay cause of so many technical problems, it was unbelievable!
At one stage, I didn’t even have a sidebar to move things around but never mind-Temporary defeat!
Great to see you progressing and really giving value to people.
Take care and have a great day mate!
